How to choose die casting machine tonnage?
In initial stage of quoting a die casting product and when we design die casting molds, all refers to consideration of die casting machine tonnage, the following three steps must be applied:

,Verify clamping force
a. Total projected area A=Die casting projected area A1+Runner area A2(0.15~0.3A1)+ Overflow system A3(0.1~0.2A1)+ Material handle area A4(3.14xdxd d is material room diameter, also as punching head diameter)
b. Swelling Force F1=Total projected area Ax Injection pressure (MPa) Injection pressure is the pressure force per area, according to experience: Conventional die casting product is 30~50, bearing die casting product is 50~80 Air resistance die casting product 80~100.
c. Clamping Force F2=Swelling Force F1/K K is Safety Index:0.85

, Verify filling
a. Total weight=Die casting product weight+ runner weight+material handle weight+ Overflow system weight, than we can calculate depth and volume according to each projected area.

Full filling =Total weight/Casting capacity, casting capacity is the maximum alloy weight when different die casting achiness use different chambers. Verify die casting machine tonnage according to filling degree value, usually filling degree is between 40% - 75%.
, Verify die casting mold dimension
a. Analyze die casting product position in die casting mold and calculate die casting mold dimension
b. Verify whether distance of tie bars of selected die casting machine is suitable according to casting die size

Finally, tonnage of die casting machine is determined
